I’m baaack!!! I am now 10 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby, and I’m starting to feel better. I can actually function right now. It feels so weird to be blogging since I haven’t in so long. Actually, it feels weird doing anything because I have literally been in bed for a month or so. No cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, feeding the dogs, seeing friends, talking to friends, nothing. Morning sickness had completely taken over my life even with me on Reglan and Phenergan. Truck Driver Burt has really stepped up to the plate. In addition to having a full-time, very consuming job, he took over my job of being a housewife. For that, I am very grateful. Life just kinda went to hell in a hand basket, but I think I’m starting to see the light.
On June 7th, I went for my first ultrasound with Truck Driver Burt. All we could really see was a very healthy heart flickering. We could just barely hear the heartbeat. BARELY. I was almost 7 weeks.
On June 14th, my mother and I went for my second ultrasound. Truck Driver Burt couldn’t get off of work. Plus, my mom really wanted to go. This time the heartbeat was so loud! I was surprised. 144 beats.
Truck Driver Burt in CONVINCED that I’m pregnant with identical twins since looking at this ultrasound picture. With these two ultrasounds, my doctor has been out of town, and it has only been the nurse with us when I have them. She hasn’t said anything about me being pregnant with twins. I have another ultrasound this Friday, and Dr. Jersey is going to finally be there. Truck Driver Burt is extremely excited about this ultrasound because he’s going to ask the doc about twins. I say it’s just wishful thinking on his part. Oh, he also calls the baby Booger, much to my chagrin.
This past Saturday, I felt well enough to go to the big city with Truck Driver Burt. We went to go see Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. Not too shabby. We also ran a couple of errands, but not too many. I’m still REALLY weak, and I run out of gas pretty fast.
I’m slowly getting back to normal. I think I might work out a little bit today on the elliptical. I’ve gotten so soft since doing nothing but lying in bed for a month… and I’m not the only one either! Since I had gotten so sick due to morning sickness, Mushy Tushy had been by my side constantly, like white on rice. The entire past month, she has been in bed with me, only leaving me to eat dinner and go potty. She has gotten no exercise this past month, and it is definitely showing on her butt. She has gotten pretty chunky. She’s getting back to her normal routine, but, just like Mommy, she runs out of energy pretty fast. As I type this she’s outside doing her thing. I don’t imagine it will be too much longer, and she’ll be back to her normal weight. Chunky monkey.
That’s about all that is going on in my life right now. Just looking forward to my ultrasound Friday and getting outta this damn first trimester! – The Infertile Housewife
